Berkeley County Government issued the following announcement 28.
Throughout October, Berkeley County 911 staff has been wearing pink to not only raise awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness Month but also show support for survivors and those who’ve lost loved ones to the disease. Among those survivors are two 911 staff members: Starr Hope-Milligan, a 911 Center trainee, who defeated breast cancer while pregnant and went on to deliver a healthy baby girl; and Night Shift Supervisor (and local firefighter) Patricia "Trish" Wyman, who was diagnosed with breast cancer last year. While serving on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic as a first responder, Wyman was simultaneously fighting for her life. After undergoing chemo treatments, she is now cancer-free!
