Berkeley County Government issued the following announcement on November 14.
Berkeley County native, Lynette Shelton, has served the County nearly 38 years. Originally hired right out of college as a clerk in the Register of Deeds Office, Lynette now boasts the Deputy Director title. Her friendly attitude and compassionate heart have equipped her with the perfect positive skill set to work with the public. In fact, Lynette said it's her favorite part of the job and one of the main reasons she has delayed retirement - in addition to her admiration for her boss Cindy Forte and helpful team of co-workers.
