3

City of Goose Creek issued the following announcement on December 15.

Congratulations to City of Goose Creek Planning and Zoning Technician Brenda Moneer, who has been named the 2021 City Employee of the Year.

Mayor Habib presented Brenda with the honor at the Dec. 14 City Council meeting. “When you’ve got someone that displays this level of commitment to getting things done for people trying to invest here, it’s a big, big deal,” the Mayor said. “And I’m thankful for her. She’s a difference maker in our City and in our community … she is great.”

“I love working for this great City and watching it develop and become even greater,” Brenda told last night’s audience. “It’s a great place to work, and I love what I do, and I thank you guys so much. It means a lot to me.”

Each City Department chose an Employee of the Year for 2021, and Brenda, who was the Admin Department’s honoree, was then chosen as the citywide Employee of the Year by City Council.

Congratulations, Brenda! Thank you for your service to Goose Creek!
