Berkeley County Middle College High School issued the following announcement on January 25.
Each and every one of Marilyn Edmonds’s second-graders have a shot at being voted “Best Dressed” when they become seniors in another 10 years.
Jan. 25 was the 100th day of school for Berkeley County School District, and elementary schools throughout the district did some fun events to celebrate the big day.
Boulder Bluff Elementary’s youngest grade levels all did some cute activities in their classes. All of second grade did an activity where each student designed and wore a t-shirt that was comprised of 100 items. Students donned their t-shirts and got to explain the meaning behind their selected items to their classmates.
In her classroom, Edmonds turned her room into an actual runway show; she cranked up some fun music and her students got to strut their stuff and talk about their custom shirts. Edmonds served as the emcee while students got really into busting some dance moves and striking poses (see video).
One boy decorated his t-shirt with little fish to reflect his love for feeding his pet fish.
A girl got crafty with little pom-poms to represent her passion for art.
One boy covered his shirt with bandages – symbolic of simply surviving 100 days of school.
Meanwhile, kindergartners down the hall did something similar where students made art projects comprised of 100 items. The first-graders also played dress up, except they came to school dressed as little 100-year-old versions of themselves – check out more photos from the 100th day of school at Boulder Bluff Elementary.
One hundred days down – 80 to go.
