Charleston County Parks & Recreation recently issued the following announcement.

Date: February 11, 2022

Time: 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM

Time Details: Turn left onto East Ashley Avenue and follow this road to where it ends at a cul-de-sac.

This walk focuses on the incredibly diverse northeast end of Folly Island. Once the home of a Coast Guard station, this Heritage Preserve protects maritime forest, beach, dune, and marsh habitats for wildlife. This site boasts one of the largest bird lists in South Carolina. At this time of year we hope to see spring arrivals such as Painted Buntings and Wilson's Plovers, plus much more.

Ages 12 & up. Registered and paid chaperone is required for ages 15 & under.

Please be aware there are no restrooms at this location. Binoculars are not provided. Please bring binoculars if you have them.
