ABOUT MATT SLOAN
With over 30 years experience leading prominent real estate and community development projects in Charleston, Matt Sloan is a regional leader within the industry. He began his career working in real estate consulting and in 1991, as a project manager representing the Guggenheim family, he became part of the team that created the visionary master plan for Daniel Island in Charleston. He went on to become managing partner of the investment group responsible for Daniel Island's development, maintaining overall responsibility for development, marketing and sales activities as it evolved into an award-winning master planned community over the course of more than two decades. As founder, President and CEO of the DI Development Company, Sloan now oversees management of large-scale planned communities for clients, including the landowners of the 9,000-acre Cainhoy property where the new Point Hope community is emerging. His team, many of whom he worked with on Daniel Island's development, manages the day-to-day development and marketing activities at Point Hope, including strategic planning, permitting, infrastructure, amenity planning and development, builder relations and marketing strategies. A graduate of Columbia University and member of the Urban Land Institute, Sloan has held Board positions with many Charleston area non-profit organizations, including the Roper Foundation, Cannon Street YMCA, Charleston Regional Development Alliance and Porter Gaud school.
