Berkeley County Middle College High School issued the following announcement.
Due to the potential for severe weather Tuesday afternoon and evening, all Berkeley County School District (BCSD) athletics, after school activities and after school care programs are canceled for tomorrow, Tuesday, April 5. BCSD officials will continue to monitor forecasts for changes in conditions throughout the evening and early morning hours. Schools will operate tomorrow according to the regular schedules.
“At this time, forecasts indicate that severe weather is expected to impact our area after 5 p.m. tomorrow,” said BCSD Superintendent Deon Jackson. “We understand that weather can be unpredictable so we are continuing to receive updates from our partners at Berkeley County Emergency Management and will update our staff and parents if conditions require any additional changes to school operations.”
BCSD officials work in partnership with the Berkeley County Emergency Preparedness Department and receive regular updates regarding the weather from the National Weather Service. As safety and security is our number one priority, officials will continue to monitor the weather and share updates as needed.
Athletics, after school activities and after school care programs will resume normal operations on Wednesday.
