Berkeley County School District would like to congratulate all of its summer 2022 graduates.
Families gathered at Goose Creek High on Aug. 8 to cheer on BCSD’s summer graduates as they officially leave high school and begin a new chapter.
The district holds 11 graduation ceremonies during the summer: one for each of the nine high school programs (including Berkeley Middle College), one for the Adult Education graduates, and one for the district’s summer graduates.
This year’s summer graduation ceremony included recent Goose Creek High graduate Micaela Cruz performing the National Anthem. Members of the high school’s JROTC program led the Presentation of Colors as well as the Pledge of Allegiance. Goose Creek High Assistant Principal Lauren Canfield kicked off the celebration with welcoming remarks. Dr. Anthony Dixon, BCSD Chief Academic and Innovation Officer, introduced retired district educator Willis Sanders as the guest speaker. Once all the graduates had crossed the stage, BCSD Superintendent Deon Jackson delivered closing remarks.
Not all summer graduates participated in the actual graduation ceremony but are still being celebrated for their hard work. Berkeley County School District would like to recognize the following graduates:
