Welcome Back, Bcsd Students!

Welcome back, Berkeley County School District students!

Teachers returned to the classroom on Aug. 8 to prepare for a new school year, and now students are officially back in the building.

Following a fun and final weekend of summer break by hosting the OneBerkeley Back to School Festival, Berkeley County School District greeted thousands of students across its 47 schools on Aug. 15 to start the 2022-2023 school year.

BCSD Superintendent Deon Jackson described the first day of school as a special one for families and teachers.

“The first day of school is one of the most exciting days of the school year and arguably among the most cherished days for students, teachers and parents,” he said. “Some teachers met students for the first time today. First-year teachers presented their first lessons. Thousands of children walked the halls of a school for the first time.

“This day was a special day for so many,” Jackson said, “and I can say with confidence that our teachers, administrators and support staff did everything in their ability to maximize the experience.”

Families needing additional information on bus routes and delays should check out the Bus Delays page on the district website.
