Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Lexington Chamber is seeking applicants for a Coordinator of Program and Events. This is an entry-level, hourly position with a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, and the opportunity for advancement and professional growth. The Coordinator will be a part of a small but energetic team of employees that serve the Chamber’s 725+ member businesses.

The Program and Events Coordinator will plan and execute a full calendar of events, programs, and networking opportunities throughout the year, including recurring monthly and quarterly events and signature annual events (Annual Meeting & Awards Luncheon, Dining on the Dam, Spring/Fall Golf Tournaments, LEXPOtrade show), in addition to other advocacy and shareholder programs.

Responsibilities include recruiting sponsors and attendees, contacting vendors and suppliers, securing locations and catering, coordinating marketing and promotion with the Chamber’s Communications Director, and hands-on event logistics and volunteer management. Additionally, there will be other duties as assigned including, but not limited to, committee responsibilities and other administrative tasks.

Qualified candidates should possess event management experience, excellent organizational and customer service skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office and social media, and be able to work outside regular business hours as needed. Physical demands include working or standing for extended periods of time and lifting/transporting event materials (20 – 40 lbs.)

Candidates will be considered immediately for a start date beginning in January. Flexible schedule estimated to be 32 to 38 hours/week. Only applicants with appropriate experience will be contacted. No phone calls please. A cover letter and resume are required.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

•    Events management: 1 year (Preferred)
