The City's Architectural Review Board reviews and approves changes to commercial properties, and all new commercial developments. The board's mission is to create a visually attractive and unique community that brings pride to its citizens and allows businesses to thrive. The board's responsibilities include ensuring that changes are compatible with the design guidelines set forth in the City's zoning ordinance.
The City's Planning Commission is responsible for determining many land use processes. The commission is tasked with identifying the needs of the City, establishing both short and long terms goals for development, and then writing and updating the City's Comprehensive Plan. In addition, the Commission approves street names, and hears requests for property rezoning.
The Planning Commission and ARB both meet monthly at City Hall.
