College of Charleston announced on March 30 that three members of its equestrian team have qualified for the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) Nationals after competing at the IHSA Zones.

The advancement is significant for the team, as it highlights individual achievements and brings recognition to the program. The IHSA Nationals are scheduled to take place from May 3 to May 5 in Tryon, North Carolina.

Sophomore Meredith Miramonti qualified in Individual Limit Flat, sophomore Emma Heatherton advanced in Individual Limit Fences, and senior Maggie Armes earned a spot in Individual Intro. All three were named reserve champions at their respective events during the competition.

In addition to these individual successes, the College of Charleston equestrian team placed third overall at Zones and was just one point away from earning reserve champion status as a team.

The college encourages those interested in following further updates on its equestrian program to visit its Instagram account (@cofcequestrian).

Looking ahead, Miramonti, Heatherton, and Armes will represent College of Charleston at the upcoming national championship event.
